Discover Campania on a 7-day itinerary through ancient cities, dramatic coastlines, colourful villages and some of southern Italy’s most beautiful hidden beaches.
Day 1.
Naples Airport → Naples
Driving: ± 20–30 min
Pick up your rental car at Naples Airport and head into one of Italy’s most fascinating cities.
Explore the historic centre around Spaccanapoli, wander through narrow streets filled with churches and local shops, and stop at Piazza del Plebiscito before walking towards the waterfront.
End your first day with authentic Neapolitan pizza in the historic centre.

Day 2.
Naples → Pompeii → Sorrento
Driving: ± 1 hr 30 total
Leave Naples and travel south towards Pompeii, one of the world’s best-preserved ancient Roman cities.
Spend the morning exploring its streets, villas, temples and ancient forum beneath Mount Vesuvius before continuing towards the Sorrento Peninsula.
Arrive in Sorrento in the afternoon and wander through its historic streets, lemon-filled gardens and viewpoints overlooking the Bay of Naples.

Day 3.
Sorrento → Baia di Ieranto → Sorrento
Driving: ± 1 hr 15 total
Discover the quieter side of the Sorrento Peninsula with a day around Nerano and Baia di Ieranto.
Hike from Nerano through Mediterranean landscapes towards Baia di Ieranto, a secluded bay overlooking Capri and its famous Faraglioni.
Spend time swimming in the clear water before returning to Sorrento for a relaxed evening in the historic centre.

Day 4.
Sorrento → Positano → Praiano → Amalfi
Driving: ± 2 hr, excluding stops
Follow one of Italy’s most spectacular coastal roads towards the Amalfi Coast.
Stop first in Positano to explore its steep lanes and colourful houses before continuing towards Praiano. Visit Marina di Praia, a tiny beach hidden between towering cliffs, and stop at viewpoints along the coast.
Continue towards Amalfi in the late afternoon and spend the evening exploring its historic centre.

Day 5.
Amalfi → Ravello → Vietri sul Mare → Castellabate
Driving: ± 2 hr 15 total
Start the day in Ravello, high above the Amalfi Coast, where gardens and terraces overlook the Mediterranean.
Continue east towards Vietri sul Mare, famous for its colourful ceramics, before leaving the busiest stretches of the coast behind.
Travel south into Cilento and finish the day in Castellabate, a beautiful hilltop village overlooking the coastline.

Day 6.
Castellabate → Palinuro → Marina di Camerota
Driving: ± 2 hr total
Travel deeper into Cilento, where the coastline becomes quieter and increasingly wild.
Stop around Palinuro and explore its dramatic cliffs, sea caves and secluded beaches. If conditions allow, take a small boat to Spiaggia del Buondormire, one of the area’s most beautiful hidden coves.
Continue towards Marina di Camerota and enjoy the evening beside the sea.

Day 7.
Marina di Camerota → Baia degli Infreschi → Naples Airport
Driving: ± 2 hr 45–3 hr to Naples Airport
Don’t leave Cilento without exploring its most spectacular stretch of coastline.
Take a morning boat trip from Marina di Camerota towards the protected Costa degli Infreschi, stopping at secluded coves such as Cala Bianca and Baia degli Infreschi. Limestone cliffs, caves and intensely clear water make this one of Campania’s wildest coastal landscapes.
Return to Marina di Camerota and drive north towards Naples Airport for your flight home.
